BIRTHING WITH DIGNITY AND POWER, FROM HOME TO OPERATING ROOM
If you would like to host a Homebirth Cesarean workshop, please send a note.
This workshop was exactly what I was looking for. The next birth I attended after this class was a homebirth cesarean and the family felt supported during the experience. I also felt that I knew how to care for myself in a way I never could before. Courtney has a vast knowledge about homebirth cesareans that she shares with students in an engaging and nonjudgmental way. Her enthusiasm, energy, and compassion come across online and she transforms this difficult topic into actionable and accessible information.

Online Workshop Focus:
When a woman plans an out-of-hospital birth, or a natural birth in the hospital, she may experience deep grief, trauma, and life-altering mental and emotional outcomes if she ends up in the operating room. The support she receives from her birth team, beginning with her prenatal care and ending with her last postpartum appointment, can influence the next years of her life as a birther, mother, and woman.
During this 7.5-hour interactive online workshop held over the course of 5 weeks, you’ll learn and practice tools and strategies to care for women, families, and yourself during difficult or traumatic births. The information and insights shared have been gathered from over 250 interviews with mothers, partners, midwives, doulas, childbirth educators, and renowned birth professionals from around the world.
Who Should Attend:
If you are a seasoned professional, student, or aspiring birth worker, this online workshop will provide you with resources you will call upon many times over throughout your career and even in your personal life. Midwives, doulas, childbirth educators, lactation consultants, mental health workers, OB/GYNs, nurses, and advocates have attended and benefited from this learning experience.
What I learned was life changing and truly transformed my practice. I now understand my own fears around cesarean and can comfortably talk to my clients about theirs. Courtney’s teaching skills were evident in the online environment and it worked out so I could attend this class from my home office and sometimes in my car between appointments.

CEUs from OMC (Oregon Midwifery Council) are in-process (meaning the application has been submitted). The OMC CEUs can be used by midwives for Oregon LDM renewal and also the national CPM certification. Courtney is happy to work with you to provide what you may need to earn CEUs.
What is the online workshop experience like?
Courtney Jarecki creates an online experience for birth professionals that is intimate, engaging, and nonjudgmental. Each session is well organized yet easily follows the flow of conversation without one person, emotion, or story dominating the conversation. All students can see and hear each other and everyone is given time and space to ask questions and, at appropriate times, share stories.
What happens after I register?
Upon receipt of your PayPal or check payment, you will receive a welcome email from Courtney laying out the foundation of the workshop. Detailed instructions to ensure you are technologically ready to begin, along with personal inner work to prepare you prior for your first session, ensure that each student will be ready. A private Google Group invitation will also be sent to all registered attendees so we have a safe space, away from our regular social media and email platforms, to ask questions and share.

All sessions will be recorded (audio only) and the file will be emailed to you via Dropbox.
